Hey all,

I've been trying to identify a SW receiver made by Radio Shack in the late 70's.

I remember this portable receiver with it's large red led display and the chrome
handles on both sides of the face.

If I was to compare it with a receiver that I managed to find on the net is a portable
version of the DX-300.

Anyone know the receiver I'm looking for ?

Hello,

You might try finding it in one of the old Radio Shack catalogs that are now available for viewing online.  Most all of the old Radio Shack catalogs from the 60's-90's are now available to view online in PDF format.  Just type in "Radio Shack Catalogs" into Google and it should bring up the link.  Hope this helps!

I actually spent the better part of last night going through the catalogs, it brought back so many memories of my teen years..
Anyway, I didn't find it, I may have the make wrong. I googled sw receivers and went through the photos, a very close to what
I remember is the Panasonic DR28, but it doesn't come with a red led display...

The only Rad Shack with a red LED display I can remember was the DX 302 (and 300?)

Not really a portable.

I love those old catalogs, too...

I was thinking Uniden had a SW tabletop model out in the late 70's or early 80's that had a red LED display.  I'm not sure what the model number of it might be or if this is the radio you might be thinking of.
