Have to look at the pro's and cons if this really happen. ... ! pro.. those in restricted neighborhoods can finally put up that tower in the backyard.   con. no one to talk to . pro... all the bands will be ' free bands now "  pro .. won't matter if mfj misses a solider joint on equpiment .  all antenna makers claims about gain won't matter and be correct. easyer to break  into a pileup.  permanent end of code vs no code debate. no more cbers on  ten . If financing  ten tec rig, won't have to make all  the payments. May clean up dayton ham fest site? Can get by awail  longer without replacing coax . Great tho, about time learn how to solder pl259 and this  happens. kg4ymc

too funny. Other EoTW pros and cons..

Pros:

• You can say "73" or "73s" without someone correcting you.
• 14.313 will be clear.
• You will be the fastest CW key in the world
• All the donuts are yours at the next monthly club meeting

Cons:

• Those last WAS states will be VERY difficult.
• QSL cards will take forever to arrive.
• No one else is bringing donuts to the monthly meeting.

IF you are NOT a CONTESTER, you should renew a DAY AFTER the big Mayan Event.

The Mayan calendar ends at 2012 because they ran out of room on the rock and were too lazy to re-do it on a bigger rock.

actually, the rock they used was apparently roomier than the one used to develop the Gregorian calendar upon which we lazily hang our proverbial hats...

Joking aside.. I wonder how many lines for licenses and such will be impossibly long in early 2013 because people didn't renew this or that and then had to scramble to get it done when we were all still here. How many people will wait to sign business contracts? House loans? Renew their ham license? Pay bills? (Not that holding onto that money would help them if the end did come anyway but that's now how some people seem to think)
