I've had mine for almost 2 years and it's a great little genny. It is "cold natured" and seems to need a shot of ether to help start. I believe it could benefit from a primer bulb, the choke just doesn't enrich the mixture enough. I run Amsoil 100 a little on the greasy side just for insurance, probably around 60-70:1.
A real bargain!!!
As you add oil you reduce vapor pressure a bit. I use AmsOil 100 to 1 at a 85 to 1 mix. When I am done with it I shut off fuel and run it dry. When I go to start it I turn fuel on and wait a few minutes and then it starts pretty easy. I also use mid grade/89 octane. You really should not use 87 octane in a 2 stroke and under right conditions it can detonate under heavy load and damage engine . (combustion chamber in a 2 stroke runs hotter because it has no extra "cooling" cycle between ignitions).
