YUP! Sure DID!!!
We got our's just before getting our "Novice" in 1962, and our's was "WPE6FNI" !!!
And also I'd aways drool over looking thru the the "ALLIED Electronics catalog" which as a young lad was out of our BUDGET! But that's nothing new to most of you guys!!!

I actually got mine from the PE guy who ran the program, but after Popular Electronics discontinued giving them out. He changed the prefix from WPE to WDX. I had a certificate for WDX8KVS. I wonder what happened to that....oh well, still have all the QSL cards from those listening days. Too bad there are hardly any broadcast SW stations now.

From the early 60s...WPE2DOY....even had QSL cards! It was a 'early issue' hand written 'callsign' on the certificate. Later ones were typed-in. I got my Novice about a year later!

Yes, I was (am) WPE9IGS. Those were fun times when the shortwave broadcast bands were full of stations from all over the world. I was a regular subscriber to Popular Electronics back then. I still have my framed WPE certificate proudly displayed on my wall.

I was WPE2NTM when I was 12 years old in 1965. Became WN2ZNP the next year. Now W2MR.

Always meant to, never did. I vaguely remember that there was some kind of license fee, like $1, and I never had $1 to spare. Or maybe I was just lazy.
