I have a question for anyone using an Axis CM-3 condenser mic with their hf rig.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AXIS-CM-3-CONDENSER-MICROPHONE-KENWOOD-HF-RADIOS-/170594534349 I am in need of a new mic for my TS-2000 and stumbled upon the CM-3 while looking for a way to connect a benson mic to my rig.. I own several mics for music and audio recording (Shure, AKG, Sennheiser, etc) and love the way ribbon and condenser mics sound.
My questions are:
1. I have never heard of Axis company or brand. Does it really exist or is the mic relabeled? It actually looks identical to this Benson I have sitting here.
2. The specs say it is 900 ohms impedance. My radio requires much lower impedance. I don't see an impedance matching circuit in the cable. Is the mic really 900 ohms or is it lower?
3. Will the mic work with my radio and have great audio characteristics?
Thanks!
