 Huh
Are there any roofing filter mods available for the IC-756?.
I checked Inrad but did not see any available there.

If Inrad doesn't have one, it's pretty unlikely.

However...reading the table of Inrad "VHF Filters for Experimenters" suggests that either the IC-765 or IC-775 roofing filter mod *might* work in the IC-756 (non-PRO) because they have the same first IF.  You would have to, 1. verify the 1st IF, 2. determine the amount of gain required by the roofing filter amp, and 3. devise a way to get it into your radio.  If I was in your situation, that is how I would go about it.  Good luck!

Thanks for the great tip Ethan!.. I will investigate the possibility. The frequencies do look the same , I did a quick check.
The problem is getting a proper match at the pint of insertion in the IF chain, in order to prevent unwanted products.
Could be an interesting project!..

Hi WIlliam,

It's been a while, just wondering if you made any headway on this?

Hi Dave, I ended up not buying the IC-756, sold my TS-590s and am awaiting the arrival of my new Yaesu FTDX-3000.
Great rig by all accounts!.

73!.
