Hi All

I am trying to get FLdigi to use CAT control to my FT-817

My converter, USB/RS232 works great in Windows, but can't get it to work in Ubunto op system

Can't seem to load or find a driver that works

Anyone got this to work?

You don't say which version of Ubuntu (and by extension of this which kernel) you are running on your machine. Most USB to serial interfaces use the FTDI chipset and emulate a serial port and a driver is built into kernel 2.6.31 and later. If you want to download drivers from a trusted source use the following URL:

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

Note that there are different drivers for 32 bit and 64 bit machines.

Hi
Thanks for reply, I am running 11.10, I need to be able to connect fldigi to cat control on ft 817. The lead I have has mini din plug on one end and usb on the other with integrated chip.

Do I need a driver or just settings in fldigi?

I am using signalink for soundcard
