I have one with the separation kit installed in my mobile.  I an using it with a Lil Tarheel II screwdriver antenna, an Ameritron SWR/Watmeter and an MFJ programmable screwdriver antenna controller.  It is a good radio for the price, lacking the sophistication of my FT100D and TS2000 with their DSP.  To narrow the difference I am also purchasing an amplified speaker with audio DSP.  I have used it for digital modes by feeding a SignalLink USB to the mike and speaker jacks on the radio.  BTW: the mike wiring is the same as my TS2000 so I can use my Heil Proset with it also.

Every place I've called, not in stock and no idea when they are getting a new shipment. At that price point, I can see why they are impossible to find. Where did you get yours?

Hi everyone,

My daughter just got her license KK4RCE at the age of 12. I have been thinking about getting her a HF rig for her birthday.
How is your Alinco HF rig going?
Can I make a schedule to try and let her work you on ten meters?

Thanks,
Charles,

No built in tuner disqualified it for me.
