Just wanted to check in to the forum.  Finally got my ticket yesterday after years and years and years of wanting to be a ham.  Looking forward to participating more in the future and meeting some of you on the air.  Also wanted to thank the administrators for this useful and interesting resource.

Yes, Welcome!  This site can be a great resource for you in the hobby too--just as you stated.  The only real thing to look out for are the self appointed directors and correctors who like to offer their opinion--then get belligerent when they're corrected or when their ideas are added to.  You can usually tell who those people are after you've seen a few of their posts.

Anyway, good luck, and I hope you enjoy the hobby as much as a lot of us here do!  73!

WELCOME to HAM RADIO & CONGRATS! Remember that as in anything there are BAD APPLES so don't be scared off by those whom are less than friendly in our HOBBY! Think out your choices of gear by budget, bands you wish too use, antenna's allowed in your yard,& do you want a single rig that does it all or several rigs too cover the wanted bands. All are important in saving you money & time & MAKING THE HOBBY MUCH MORE fun.ENJOY the hobby & GOOD "DX"!  Grin
