I'm picking up a lot of noise tonight. I was operating on 10m 28.427 USB. started tuning down the band tracking down this odd harmonic?. The farther down I went the worse it got. A loud squealing noise sometimes mixed with music anywhere from S7 to S9+++

I have been picking this up nonstop for a couple of hours. this is across the entire range of frequencies, and the noise seems to peak on

27.045 squeal
27.085 squeal
27.115 squeal & music
27.125 squeal
27.165 squeal
27.205 squeal
27.225 squeal & music
27.245 squeal
27.285 squeal
27.325 squeal
27.335 squeal & music
27.365 squeal
27.405 squeal

I hope this isn't the start of the famous ft-897 S9 noise filter failure I keep hearing about.......

Remove antenna.  Squeal still there?  If it is, it's the radio.  No, it's something you're receiving.

Each frequency listed is a CB channel. You are listening to CB operators.

That's what I figured. It's back and now extends from
27.045-27.555+ and has gotten even worse.

Lame attempt at humor on the filter issue.

It's getting pretty bad with so many frequencies being affected above and beyond the allocation.

Laura really needs to put in an effort before Hamvention. This is embarassing

They've been on there for 50 years and with the sunspots on the increase they're having fun. I don't see them going away anytime soon.
