LDG YT-100 and FT-857D, Radio tune control?

Just a quick question to anyone using a LDG YT-110 autotuner with a Yaesu FT-857D -

Can someone confirm or deny for me, that the tuner can be controlled using the TUNE control on the radio?

I know there is a tune button on the tuner, but im considering a boot (trunk) installation!

Have FT-897 and the radio TUNE button will not work with YT-100 hooked up.
Button works properly when my FC-30 or FC-40 instlalled.
Might be able to modify LDG for remote button.

ok. Does the YT-100 RF sense? Or do you still need to press the tune button on the tuner front panel?

With the 857D, you must press the Tune button on the LDG Tuner.  The Tune button on the rig does not work in this configuration.  What is happening when you press the tune button on the tuner is that it is talking to the radio via CAT to set power level and a mode that has a constant carrier output.  It then commands the radio to transmit.  After the tuning is complete, the LDG restores the radio to the previous mode and power level before the tuning took place.
