I'm in western europe for a spell and let me tell you there is plenty of cw activity over here. Good, courteous ops, too. Inter-Euro QRM levels require serious cw filtering. Am enjoying working cw here, in spite of my low power and not very good antenna. I haven't heard any talk of cw loosing its appeal with a majority of young hams on this side of the pond.

CW's very active here, too.

When the bands are crappy and almost all the SSB signals have faded into the dust, you'll still hear a lot of CW activity.

CW's still the predominant QRP mode, and there's an awful lot of QRPers out there.

I am glad you mentioned the active CW bands in Europe, a it's a good thing to know for ops visiting there. My XYL is from Germany and I've operated there a few times and been impressed with the amount and quality of CW operators in Europe and Scandinavia.
