Hello, Does any Chinese manufacturer other then Wouxun make a 1.25 meter HT? I checked Baofeng, Puxing and Feidaxin, but these manufactures make only 2 meter single band and 2 meter 70 centermeter dual band HTs. I have a Wouxan dual band 2 meter 70 centermeter radio and would like to purchase an inexpensive (cheep) HT in the 1.25 meter band. I know I could purchase the Wouxun with this band and the 70 centermeter band, but I would rather get just the one band I need and pay less. (yes I am cheep) and hate to duplicate things I already have.

Thanks for any information you might have.

I was all set to buy a pair of Alincos for my 1.25m HT.  Then I took a shot at the Wouxun and I love it.  Besides, being a dual bander all of my radios have 2m capability, which I really like.  In the case of an emergency, anyone in my family will be able to use any HT I have on 2 meters to all communicate with one another.

You may want to look for a Radio Shack HTX 404.  They are built like bricks, and you can sometimes find them at very reasonable prices.

Are you familiar with the HTX 202?   Great HTs.

I only mentioned it because you might like a single band radio for 440.  I personally always preferred them over dual banders.

K6LCS>> Huh?

Just thought it was weird to suggest a 440-only HT to someone lookin' for a 220 HT.
