OK. This is my first ever self-built antenna. This is not necessarily a home brew. I did not design it, but I did build it myself using Unadilla traps and their plans. I also used a Balun Designs current balun. Wire is Polystealth that o purchased from Davis RF. I made it for 20-40-80 (phone portion). It is 35' up at the apex in an inverted V. Below are the analyzer readings. I did not trim anything. These reading are "as put up".

I can maybe adjust 40M if anything. But I may just leave it.

Very nice antenna project with proven results, regardless of having to buy a few parts or using a good design. You still get the self satisfaction of the build, set up, tuning ect. of doing it yourself that those who fill out order blanks and checks then wait for the U.P.S. man for a pre built antenna will never experience. For me,building my own antennas and getting them to work is my favorite part of the hobby.Don't stop with this one.

That is very nice!  Looks like your measurements are very useable.   I like the standoff for from your mast for the dipole apex.   Where or how did you devise that?  Just today, I home-brewed some 40m chokes out of coax.   I'll post a photo of them in my coaxial choke thread.

That is an eye-bolt. I think it is a 1 footer that I purchased at a local metal supply (they have everything). I just used the rig  20, and got glowing reports.

Thanks.  Looking at your setup I'm now wondering if I should add 20m too!

I was a youth when I built a first trap dipole, actually installed as a vee.  Used the W2AU balun and same maker 40M traps to make a 75/40 vee with the apex as high as I could get it in a huge tree. With an old FT-101 series radio, it really kicked butt on those bands.  Probably had to fine-prune the lengths to get the match dead-in the phone band but I believe it was close to begin with.  I expect the more traps you add the trickier it can get.    One time for fun, I attached neon bulbs along the length of it and it made an interesting display at night when I would TX.

Nice Job!

There are several references on line to build your own Coaxial Cable Traps. I have made my own years ago.  They work well. If you may have a reason to add one more, give this a try.
