Suggestions for a magnet mount on a 1/4 inch threaded light stand

I purchased two photo light stands, each has a 1/4 inch threaded stud on the top.  I want to mount a metal plate, so that I can put a dual band or other gain antenna on top.  The question is where can I find the adapter to go from the 1/4 inch stud, to the metal plate.  I do not have a metal shop, so parts would be from a local box hardware store.

      Agway or big box store plumbing dept.All types of threaded and smooth reducers and transition parts there.I have made several bases from small table and large floor lamp bases that have these 1/4 in. stubbs  to make vertcal antennas,sometimes if the threads are off I just epoxy the transition piece over the threaded strubb.Check out AD5X-Phil Silas web site(portable vert.ant) for ideas.For your flat metal go to the carpentry dept and look at all the metal joist  hanger combos and rebend them to fit your needs.

1/4-20 is a common thread size in photography. I remember a QST Hints and Kinks article from a long ways back about someone who made a mag-mount adapter for their photo tripod by using a metal junction box and using a wing nut over the stud. They didn't even have to drill a hole, it was already there
