Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but its my first time
I have just noticed that My Yaesu FT817nd and my Icom Ic746 differ in frequency by 600Hz
I have just set up for 2m ssb and when I hear someone calling cq on the calling channel (144.300mhz )using an Icom rig, I tune them in on 144.300mhz on my IC746 but have to tune to 144.299.40Mhz on the FT817. If I hear somone calling on a Yaesu rig I have to tune the IC746 to 144.300.60Mhz But the FT817 tunes them correctly at 144.300Mhz I know this is nothing to worry about but just wanted to know if anyone else has noticed this? and why are they 600hz apart?
Regards

Two things I would check are that the master oscillators are accurate and that your RIT is off on both radios.

I would check both the rigs against WWV or some other known standard and see how it goes.
Also, the 746 has a calibrator and you could check it with that.

Actually given rigs involved 600hz at that frequency is not much of a error. I would have been shocked if they had closely agreed without calibration. This amount of error percent wise is equal to 60hz on 20 m and 30 hz on 40m. Stability is more important then being accurate to last 100 hz or so on 2m. If dial is accurate but rig is not stable you have a bigger problem.
