I needed N Cooks on 12 and 80 meters. Thursday evening E51M was booming in on 12 and 15 meters. Got them on 12 (and worked them on 15). So far 80 has been weak. Very noisy as we have had thunderstorms all week long. Finally that weather system has moved out. So maybe a chance the atmosphere noise has dropped a bit.

On 4/6, about 7:10am, he was pretty copyable on 80m cw. However, by the time the amp was online,
all set to call, the prop went down and he as pretty weak. So we did not call.
Again, this morning(4/7/12) was up before 7am and i saw there were spots till
about 6:23am and then nothing heard.

Still hoping for atleast the 80m contact. Hope they will come up early AMs on 80m. I am sure there
is a lot of demand for that band too in addition to 20m perhaps.

Just nailed them on 40m for my 4th band.  100w didn't even turn the sb-200 on.  I already had E51 on 10m so now I have them on 10-17 and 40.  Now if i could only catch them on 20 and 30, 80 would be a bonus, 160 is too loud at my QTH this time of year.

4/8/2012 1145z and E51M is on 1826.5 down 2 and is and has been Q5 for well over 40 minutes... sun is up now and he is finally fading... 15 minutes after SR... but this morning he was smoking on Top Band. I do not need so I remained silent. He did work some NA stations and a basket full of JA's this morning.

60m ssb.

Great Q from NC. They've only made about a dozen contacts on 60 due to band noise from storms there.

Thank you..I was really surprised that he heard me. There were several stations calling but he heard me in the mess. My first DX QSO on 60m.

Ah the masochistic joy of 60 meter DXing!

They were supposed to return to 60 today at 1100z, but never showed. Story is they blew the rig they earmarked for 40 and 60. They've said they're taking down their lowband antennas now. My guess is they made perhaps a dozen Qs on 60.

Same group will be on the much more common South Cooks for a few days before returning home. Like the North Cooks, South Cooks would be a first time activation on 60.

I haven't seen them on 80m. I look most mornings but I think that I missed their one morning run 80m.
