I have two Yaesu radios.  One in my car and one in my shack.  As far as I can tell there is no way to program them via my PC.

Wouxun handhelds can be programmed via a PC.  I was wondering if something like this exists for mobile radio that is under $300?

thanks

sorry,  I found out that it is possible to program them if you buy about $60 worth of software and cabling.  Don't think its worth it to me. I would have to look up the exacle models.  FT-2800 and FT-1807 I think.

UPDATE, I found the cables on ebay for a resonable price and some freeware, so thats worth to me.
thanks

I have two FT-2800 radio's and the cable and computer program for them at least three years now.  That's the only way to go.  In a pinch they can be cloned from one to the other...

This guy has programming software for both radios you listed.  It costs $15 for each radio, and I suggest looking on eBay for the programming cable.  I bought the software for my VX-8DR from this guy, and I love it.  NO problems whatsoever.  Hope this helps.
