Anyone out there using DXtreme? I'm looking for a new package.
I have tried every logging program out there that has a free trial period. Unfortunately DX-Extreme does not have a Demo. A program that costs $89.95 NEEDS a demo. Otherwise few hams are going to try or buy it.
I used Logic 8 for many years. It is very powerful but was updated rarely. Recently Logic 9 was released. I downloaded the Logic 9 Demo and -
surprise - it looked and felt just like Logic 8. It should have been an update to Logic 8 instead of a new version. Plus they want $89.95 for Logic 8 users to upgrade to Logic 9. Only $129 for new users.
Ridiculous, plus the fact after a year you must pay more $$ for updates to Logic 9! $36
a year for updates. Did I say:
RidiculousSeveral months ago I began trying loggers again. I tried all the ones that have a demo including the logger that AA6YQ constantly pushs.

Yep I also tried the latest 5.* edition of HRD. Too much missing in that one. At least it was still free. Sometimes a logger is worth what you pay for it.

The only one I liked was Commcat.
In fact I liked Commcat so much I purchased it ($50). Try it, it has a free Demo. Free updates forever and Howard Nurse is a very helpful person to get you thru any problems. A really nice logger for DXers. FWIW I use N1MM logger for all contesting.
Realize a logger is a very personal thing. YMMV.
