Hi All.
I have an ICOM PS-300 P/S which i have found to be excellent except for the very noisy cooling fan.
However there is a simple fix.
Obtain a DURATECH 80mm Silent Case Fan,Model YX-2570,which comes with rubber mounts.
This fan is identical with the OEM unit,so no electrical or mechanical mods are necessary, except to remove the Molex plug and insulate the Yellow Tacho output wire.
Time taken for this mod was aprox 1/2 hr and the cost of the fan was $20.00 AUD.
Now the P/S is on the desk alongside my ICOM 718 and the only way i can tell if the fan is running is to feel the warm air exhausting from the rear by hand.
Hope this helps.
73's.
