Is there a simple ohm meter test for a MOSFET?

Would making a jig to hold a single SD2933 that would apply a bias voltage with 42 volt on drain - would that test a MOSFET?

"IF" the MOSFET will set idle current (say 100mA to 500mA depending on device) with only bias voltage and 42vdc on drain - would that confirm the MOSFET is good?  pressure clamps could be used for the MOSFET tabs so soldering would not be required.

Ken,

I send you an email with a test that I use that works very well for "go" or "no go".  I am responding to this posting from a different computer that doesn't have the test.  You can google MOSFET testing and find it.

Yep Don - your test turned up as the first result in the google search.

Looks like a simple decent test.

Thanks, Ken H>

Every MOSFET that has failed in my amp, also failed this test.  Every MOSFET that passed the test worked.  I had one new MOSFET not pass the test, does that really mean it was bad?  I don't know but I didn't take a chance.  I check every new MOSFET before I install it.
