Bandswitch for TS520

I am looking for a band-switch for a Kenwood TS520 the part number is S10-1101-05 any suggestion would be greatly appreciated

Found the band-switch at www.hifissb.com did not have it listed so I left a email and they responded the next morning that they did have it. Only downside it's coming from Great Brittan

I consider myself to be a slightly above average tech.  Last night I looked at the bandswitch assembly inside my TS-520S.  If the TS-520 is anything like the TS-520S, this will be MAJOR surgery.  Good luck.

Dick:  I've looked at the bandswitch on my Kenwood TS-830S many times and decided long ago I'd rather remove my own appendix than replace a bandswitch or even a bandswitch wafer!!!!

..... it guess if it's a question of changing one out or trashing the rig, I guess I'd have a go at it.

 If the 520S has the same type of wafer switch as the 530/830s radios you might be able to use this fix from K4EAA's website for Kenwood hydrids. Ken is very knowledgeable on Kenwood hybrids and does sell parts also to fix these fine Kenwood radios. Good Luck on your project.

INC:  Many thanks for the link.  This one is a "keeper."  As an owner of the TS-830S, I always file information on repairing this fine old transceiver.

The conductive ink treatment might be a good fix for bandswitch problems on Heath
SB  series transceivers as well.  They relie on swedged contacts on the bandswitches
which are built onto phenolic circuit boards.  These dudes can be a real "B" to repair
for the frequent bad connection.

The band-switch on the 520 is different than the 520s or 820, Didn't look to hard to change, just mark the wires and make sure it's in the right position.
On my rig the wiper that contacts the pad was completely burned off, Silver ink wouldn't work
