Connect IC-7200 to a Mac

I am considering to purchase an Icom IC-7200 and connect it to one of my Apple computers to play with the various digital modes in Cocoa modem and such.

Since I have very little space available I like the fact that Icom claims you can connect this transceiver directly to a computer using a USB cable. Eliminating the need for an additional interface.

Looking for first hand experience :-)

I have my ic-7200 hooked up to a Windows vista machine.
HRD and Digital Master work perfect!
Just remember to put the 7200 in digital mode in set menu,
or you wont get xmit function.
Just my 5 cents worth, 2 cents dont do it anymore.

I expect it is all a matter of having the correct sound card drivers for the Mac. Does Icom give you a place to download various drivers for the IC-7200?

Check Icoms site. Chances are you well not find any for rig itself and will have to use 3rd part stuff you can find with Mac support. Problem is mac has a small market share and a lot of devices do not take time to develop drivers to support it. Worst case you could boot in a Windows session and use software for it.
