TM-733 Front Panel Lamps

I need 4 Miniature wheat grain lamps for the display of my TM-733. Any one know what voltage I need, and  a source for these bulbs ?

Ron Spoon, AH6RR has T1 (3mm) 6.3 V pilot lamps that fit Kenwood Radios, part number B30-0865-15.
Kenwood part number: B30-0865-15 is no longer available from Kenwood parts.

These fit the following radios maybe more: TM-641,721,731,732,733 and TS-50/60.

It could be more radios they fit check your service manual for the above part numbers
When the Kenwood parts had them they were $3.58 each.

AH6RR sells these for $1.50 each plus $1.00 shipping (up to 5 lamps) or $12.50 for 10 and $2.50 shipping.
Ron had to buy a large quantity to fix his TM-733 back lights so he may still have spares available (over 90).

These fit the following radios maybe more: TM-641,721,731,732,733 and TS-50/60.

The updated # is B30-0865-25 and they are available.

Hint the last 2 number are Rev numbers. If you leave them off the search engine will pull up all available or discontinued.

I'd consider LEDs as replacement. They come in suitable sizes. You'll probably need wide angle ones. Just use a resistor to reduce the voltage.

 Radio Shack has wheat lamps but they are 12 volt. I use them in my older Heathkit stereo amp for the dial pointer. Or LEDs are good too.

Problem is I've never seen a LED that shines out the side. If you know of a wide angle that size with 180 deg coverage I'll like to know.

 The Shack has thoes also. The rectangular shape ones have a wide angle dispersion of about 180 to 240 degrees. They have blue, white and yellow colored ones. I have used these on panel meter replacements.  Good luck and 73, Jim  W5JJG

Thanks for all the help.  I'll give Ron call. I don't know about the LED's not much room for resistors, I'll have to check that out and see what I need to change over.
