A Better Antenna for the WOUXUN KG-UVD1P?

I've got nearly no use for 70cm at the moment though I dearly love 2M.  Perhaps when I'm on the road a little more I'll change my mind, or if I start playing with the 'birds'... 

I've got a great 2M rig, an Yaesu FT-2900R, out to a copper J=pole mounted atop a 16ft mast and the system works well.  Thing is that my wife bought me a WOUXUN KG-UVD1P to carry in my shoulder bag.  It hasn't been the least trouble to program and works as advertised when connected to the aforementioned J-pole.  The wee rubber stick that Wouxun calls an antenna though... It needs some help. 

Is there an after-market antenna worth looking at for this little HT?

Look at Comet Diamond, Mfj they should have something that works with the radio.

If it is the reverse SMA that many of the Wouxuns use, then you are limited to the Wouxun 17" whip - available at Powerwerx.com.

But if you purchase a BNC-to-Wouxun antenna adapter, the world of aftermarket BNC antennas opens up to you.

"Better" means longer, in this case. TThe 17" flexible whips from Pryma (RD98-BNC) and others arew better performers.
