When using the advanced search feature within the Search tab, you must fill in the "User" field.  That entry is not the user's call sign, but the name of of the user.  Additionally, the name required is not the name as listed in the FCC database, but how the user registered with eHam.  So I my case, I registered as "Tom" while my FCC first name is "Thomas".  The advanced search is a very useful, and powerful tool and I think would be utilized more if the "by user" field was the call of the user.

Indeed, this quirkiness has been noticed by the admins as well. It's kind of an side-effect of how the forums software was imported into the core (historical) eHam site software.

I'm hopeful that our programmers can fix this issue at some point. (It's already in our bugs/issue tracking database)
