Im new to any kind of radio stuff, but I'm interested in picking up either a PCI or USB for listening/emergency communication.  I saw the winradio and liked how broad it's receiver band is.  Does anyone make a transmitter (or ideally a transceiver) with a similarly broad range of frequencies?  If nothing else I'd like to be able to transmit on all of the amateur bands (within my license level of course) and the CB bands.  Thoughts?  Comments?   Suggestions?

I suggest you look into the rules regarding use of amateur band equipment on the CB frequencies.
