Can anyone tell me why my new FT-7900R has a fuse-holder for glass fuses on both positive and negative leads, but according to the manual, the european "E" version only has a blade fuse-holder on the positive wire?

Most likely some sort of vehicle electrical safety standard in French or EU law.

Are you in Europe? Do you have the R or the E?

You for sure want the Positive wire to be fused, Negative can be optional.
