NB and NR Performance Comparisons?

I usually leave the preamp on to hear the weak ones. I`ll try using some attenuation when that happens.

You should never need a preamp below 20M unless something is wrong with the rig or you are using a very low gain RX only antenna.
Using the preamp on the low bands degrades your IP3 and blocking dynamic range.

I went from a 756 Pro3 to the TS-590S and noticed too that the NR was not as good on the latter. 

It would be great if the ARRL Product Reviews would include NB and NR performance measurements.

The NB on my FT-817ND does make the wideband electric fence pulses more bearable, but it doesn't cancel it completely. The pulses are like clockwork, so I guess that helps the NB, but they're S9 so perhaps more than the ignition noise that the NB was meant to deal with.
