So I finally received my new key today!!! Ok, so its not quite new.. but its new to me *laugh*

It's a J-38 CW Straight Key Telegraph. I have no idea how to connect it to my Kenwood TS-2000. Can anyone help or point me to docs that might help. It has what looks like two terminals, one is labeled line and one is labeled tel.

Are there any settings on the Kenwood TS-2000 I should set or be mindful of to make my first CW qsos  more enjoyable?

Is there a specific place you would recommend for a new cw'er to try out her skills?

Thanks for all the help so far!!

You don't have the owner's manual for the TS-2000?

What to do is clearly shown and explained in words on page 3, lower half of the page...

You need a 1/8" (3.5mm) 2-conductor phone plug (Radio Shack has them) and wire the two terminals of the key to that plug, then plug it into the mating rear panel KEY jack.
