New message notification

Hi,
Both me and other users have remarked that it could perhaps have been a bit more noticeable when you get a new message in your inbox. The little [1] is hard to spot for some.
This of course must be balanced against being too intrusive - I imagine there would be much rage if you used the HTML BLINK tag for example.

Speaking of messages, how do I change the address where I get alerts when someone posts in a thread? http://www.eham.net/user/edit has the address where I want messages sent, yet they still go to another address that I check only occasionally.

I suspect that the forum system is not getting the email address updated - it should.....

Try going into your profile in the menu above and editing your address there.

I've clicked "notify" at the top of the Site Talk forum so that I'd be sent notices of new threads, but it has never worked (i.e., I've never gotten any of these notices).  If I click "notify" again, it asks if I want to turn that feature "off" so it appears it knows I want the notices...it's just that I don't get them.

The email addr in my forum profile is correct.

mmmm... we need to figure out where they are getting lost on the way to you.

Notifications are working. I have several set up and they work for me.

Fair point. I have gotten messages very late simply because I do not notice that I have one. Maybe email notification of a pop-up box would be better.

I dug further.  I went to my forums profile (Yellow tab at top of this page) and checked the "Notifications and Email" (see forums' left menu) and it said I had none set up - no threads and no boards.

So, I went back to the top of SiteTalk and clicked the "Notify" tab and it asked me if I wanted to DISABLE my notifications (funny, the weren't ENABLED according to the Profile page). Anyway, I clicked "OK" then clicked "Notify" again and it now asked if I was sure I wanted to ENABLE, so I clicked "OK" and then I checked my Profile and now "SiteTalk" was listed as a board to which I AM subscribed.  We shall see...
