Alinco DX-R8

Hello everybody,

I'm looking to buy my first sdr receiver.
I found an Alinco DX-R8 that seems to offer sdr capability but not being an elmer I'm not sure if it's a "true" sdr or is just some sort of pc controlled receiver. Anybody familiar with it?

The alinco website says:
●I/Q signal output allows use of third-party SDR software.
The software supplied is KG-Sdr: http://www2.plala.or.jp/hikokibiyori/soft/

Can one run other sdr software with this receiver? I've never heard of kg-sdr before

My Japanese is a bit below the requirements reading the link. I think HDSDR should work for that radio. See http://www.hdsdr.de/index.html
It can be used with I/Q signal from the Alinco DJX11.
