Midland model 70-440BP uhf HT

Anyone familiar with this model Midland 70-440BP, uhf ht?

I have 4 of them, all the batteries charge just fine, but none
of the radios will power on. Does anyone know of a common failure
in these that would make them all dead. All 4 are in nice shape.
If I could get them to work they would be great for GMRS or even
440 mhz ham if they go down that far. Any Midland guys out there
that can offer help??

How do you determine good charging? You are probably using the charger supplied with the HT. Did you measure the voltage of the batteries? Could there be an internal contact problem with the batteries? Does it have some internal backup battery which is most likely not a reason for not powering up. It is really strange that all four of them should have the same problem. That's why I am looking at the charger.

That's an interesting point. Honestly I admit I didn't have that in mind, just trying to analyse. May be I got a bad background
