trying to put it on an older machine for someone. I have p-map 3.5,winaprs 2.51, and the ocx files.
Just cant remember the order. Any help would be grate.

Sure -

*** Installing Precision Mapping onto your Hard Drive ***

You should install Precision Mapping into a directory
named PMAP30/. Even if it is version 3.5, tell it to
use a folder named PMAP30. That's the only way the
current WinAPRS version (beta 2.2.2) will read it.

[NOTE: I wrote this readme file 12/20/98. Newer versions of WinAPRS may or may not not require
installing into PMAP30.]

Copy (from the CD rom) the folders
Data1/
Data2/
Data3/
and all of their contents to your C:/Pmap30/ folder

Make a folder named C:/Pmap30/states/ and place the
ZPX files for the state(s) you want into that folder.

The normal installation should also give you Pmap30/
subfolders named -
Lib/
and
Tracks/

The files for each individual state can be copied
from the CD onto the hard drive. They are labeled
by FIPS code with the file extension ZPX.
Here is the listing of all the states.

01.ZPX Alabama
04.ZPX Arizona
05.ZPX Arkansas
06.ZPX California
08.ZPX Colorado
09.ZPX Connecticut
10.ZPX Delaware
11.ZPX District of Columbia
12.ZPX Florida
13.ZPX Georgia
15.ZPX Hawaii
16.ZPX Idaho
17.ZPX Illinois
18.ZPX Indiana
19.ZPX Iowa
20.ZPX Kansas
21.ZPX Kentucky
22.ZPX Louisiana
23.ZPX Maine
24.ZPX Maryland
25.ZPX Massachusetts
26.ZPX Michigan
27.ZPX Minnesota
28.ZPX Mississippi
29.ZPX Missouri
30.ZPX Montana
31.ZPX Nebraska
32.ZPX Nevada
33.ZPX New Hampshire
34.ZPX New Jersey
35.ZPX New Mexico
36.ZPX New York
37.ZPX North Carolina
38.ZPX North Dakota
39.ZPX Ohio
40.ZPX Oklahoma
41.ZPX Oregon
42.ZPX Pennsylvania
44.ZPX Rhode Island
45.ZPX South Carolina
46.ZPX South Dakota
47.ZPX Tennessee
48.ZPX Texas
49.ZPX Utah
50.ZPX Vermont
51.ZPX Virginia
53.ZPX Washington
54.ZPX West Virginia
55.ZPX Wisconsin
56.ZPX Wyoming

You need the OCX file to get PM to work with WinAPRS.
That file is contained within this zip file. [in the orig distribution
package I used to release]

*** Precision Mapping OCX ***

This OCX will only work with 32 bit flavors
of Windows. It will not work with Win 3.1.

Installing Precision Mapping OCX Files -

Unzip the file PMAP_OCX.zip

If using WinZIP, be sure the box is checked
to 'Use Directory Names'

If using PKUNZIP, use the -d option to insure
everything gets unzipped into the correct
folders.

Then run the .bat file titled 'pmapocx.bat'
You can run the bat from windows explorer
or from a dos command prompt.

That's all there is to it. All the right
files should now be in the right places.
Your directory -
Windows/system/ should now contain
MAPOCX.OCX
and
OC30.DLL

Like any good, clean installation, it's probably
wise to reboot your Windows machine.

*** NOTE - it's not always necessary to install the PMap program,
just the states, folders and everything else. But it's simpler to just
install the thing. ***
