The 60 meter software upgrade is now available for the original FT450/450AT on the Yaesu website.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Can you supply a link?  I don't see anything relating to a plain Jane ft-450.  Don't even see a support tab.  Thanks for any help.  cheers.

Found it.  thanks for the heads up.  scroll down a bit.

Your welcome. I can't do the upgrade for a bit. I don't have a computer with a DB9 and I don't want to try an adapter. Let me know how it works out either here or my email listed on QRZ.

Adapters work perfectly fine. I have updated my FT-950 several times with the adapter.

I can't believe I spelled "you're" wrong.....Anyway, that is good to know. The instructions on the Yaesu website paint a bit of doom and gloom. Thanks.

After fighting Murphy's Law for a couple of hours, I've successfully installed
the latest (0228) firmware on my ancient Yaesu FT-450AT rig. I haven't as
yet actually used the rig since the upgrade, but it did power up OK as 0228.

note: my ancient Yaesu FT-450AT was manufactured April of 2007 in Japan.

            73 and good luck,
                                     Bob

Bug Report# 1:
                    I've given the new FT-450/FT-450AT (0228) firmware
a fairly extensive workout into an MFJ# 260C dummy.

The only obvious problem that I've encountered is that
it always transmits 100 watts on 6 meters regardless
of the power/mode that you've selected.

Check with the Yahoo group to see if that is normal. I would do a full reset, and Yaesu recommends a full reset. You will have to use a utility to save your settings, or just write them down and reenter them. My 950 takes about 5 minutes to reenter them manually.

As the popular saying goes "I've been there and I've done that". I did a full reset (Home/RCL/Power)
prior to upgrading from the old (0194) firmware to the new (0228) firmware. Then I did another full
reset (Home/RCL/Power) after the new (0228) firmware was successfully installed. Then I manually
reentered all of my CW mode customizations in VFO A and all of my Digital mode customizations in
VFO B before I began my bench testing.

I would call Yaesu and see what they say.
