I am installing a new tower next spring... was wondering your opinions of using it to support a G5RV.  I know they are to be in the clear... if max xmit is 100W, will the tower have much of an impact?  Just curious to see if anyone has this type of setup.  What would u recommend if a G5RV is not the best for this?  I'm looking for HF 80-10 if possible.  Thanks all!

I neat antenna for multi-band use has been the center fed "Zepp".  With a link antenna coupler, ladder line and a center fed doublet long enough for the lowest band, you can enjoy mulit-band/full band coverage.

Many have used a mounted piece of wood or pvc pipe to hold the center fed antenna away from the tower.
Three to 6 feet distance from the tower have been used with the above antenna.  These measurements are written in stone.

Good luck.

Chuck

The tower will be fine with the G5RV and as Chuck says a center fed zepp would be great also.

The stand off idea could be the way to go.  Thanks for the feedback!   Smiley
