Hi all from vk land just wondering if any of you have used one of these with an icom type radio ( 706   7000 generation). Just wondering if it can be done and what is involved in the interface? Its just that they look a lot like a ah4 type ,so i am presuming someone has done it before, thanks in advance ,73 Kim

I have used one of these with Kenwoods (TS0450 & TS-570) for many years in my maritime mobile station.  I have an SEA 222 Marine SSB and switch the 1612 between the two.  IIRC I had to build an indicator box using a zener diode to drive the tuned light.  It tunes very fast - a quick blow into the mike and it is done.

I can't confirm it but I have been told that the SGC 230 is a copy of the 1612.
