Standard Battery Sizes - Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_battery_sizes

A "C" battery cell is 26 mm in diameter, BUT 50 mm in length.

There are 1/2, 3/5, and 2/3 sized "C" battery cells, some with Solder Tabs.

YOUR SIZE, fits as a 3/5 "C" battery cell.

Battery Giant -- 3/5 C

DO YOU HAVE A SANYO BATTERY NUMBER ?

The Battery Store stocks Sanyo Ni-Cd batteries.

Sanyo batteries was purchased by Panasonic.
The battery industry has quickly moved to Lithium and metal formulated cells.

AKKU (Hungarian) = BATTERY (English)

Sanyo
By April 2012, parent company Panasonic plans to terminate the Sanyo brand, however it will remain on some of the products where the Sanyo brand still holds value to consumers.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanyo

Sub-C batteries
http://www.shopwiki.com/l/Sanyo-1/2-Sub-C-NiCd-Cell-Battery-with-Tabs-650mAh

START with the company's distributors in your backyard (country/region).

1. Sanyo batteries bought out by Panasonic.
Panasonic Energy Products (batteries).
Cadnica is Sanyo/Panasonic brand name for Ni-Cd batteries
http://panasonic.net/energy/

Panasonic classifies these as Industrial batteries (NOT consumer batteries)
http://industrial.panasonic.com/www-ctlg/ctlg/qACC4000_WW.html

2. You do know that you have Sanyo mfg. facility in your country???
http://www.sanyo.hu/regional/subdir01/

Sanyo Hungary ltd.
2510 Dorog, industrial park, Hungary
telephone:+36-33-531-000,
Fax:+36-33-531-003
e-mail: info.hu.shg@Sanyo.com

2. Panasonic has web page for Hungary, and country specific distributors.
http://www.panasonic.hu/html/hu_HU/index_HU/index.html
==
SUB-C is an ODD SIZE, which is reason you are having problems finding exact replacement !

OKAY, should have started with this information.
You are dealing with a 1970s radio design --- and based on 1970s battery technology.
Due to RoHS initiatives in European Union (EU), cadmium and lead are 2 elements subject to restrictions.

Icom IC-202S Owners Manual
http://www.icom.co.jp/world/support/download/manual/pdf/IC-202S.pdf

Page 5 shows your situation, the Icom IC-202S will work normal "C" dry cells (8 total at 1.5 V each).
They used 10 of the shorter Ni-Cd (sub-C) for Rechargeable, because those cells are 1.2 V each.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickel–cadmium_battery

Contact Icom Support (Japan) for options.
http://www.icom.co.jp/world/support/

Within the European Union since 2002, Ni-Cd batteries can only be supplied for replacement purposes, although they can be supplied for certain specified types of new equipment such as medical devices.
Panasonic/Sanyo is also Japanese based -- so other battery options (Ni-Mh, etc.) may exist, such as using full sized C cell that is rechargeable.
