There is always room for improvement. It seems Agilent has found a new technique to generate better signals than DDS.

Trueform is a real improvement over DSS. Agilent has patented it so will we be able to obtain amateur products or IC's that use Truefrom?

I forgot to mention I'm not linked to Agilent in any way. Like you I'm hoping for some kind of Agi-Leaks over the time. We have to keep an eye on it. I just wanted to give a heads up, pay attention.
Whatever their technique is, I'm sure it will find a way into ham radio. Rohde&Schwarz has probably already ordered a sample.

Does anyone have some more technical details of this?

The patent number should be available somewhere... Possibly somewhere on Agilents site, and from there you should be able to download the patent itself.

Patents are often horribly written, partly because of the required format and partly to make them deliberately hard to read, but the information will probably be in there.

Regards, Dan.
