I had the Superadio III. The Grundig blows it away. The SRIII drifted like an unanchored boat.

The SuperRadio III uses a potentiometer / varactor combo for electronic tuning which has three nasty attributes...

1)  The tuning voltage isn't well regulated, so when running on battery the tuning will drift as the batteries discharge.
2)  They used a cheap non-linear tuning pot which gives a dial calibration that is to laugh at.
3)  When the tuning pot gets dirty, and it will, fine tuning becomes a be-yatch.

Been there, done that, the one I had always let me know where 910 kHz was because that's twice the IF frequency. Had a nice feedback thing going for it. The SuperRadio II used a conventional tuning cap and was a much better piece. Sometimes a newer model really is better, other times it's just cheaper to make and 30% more craptastic..........

Note To N4NYY:  If you score a really good car radio you might pick up signals from an alternate universe where the Yankees are winning their playoff....
Tough crowd, definitely October fever.
Detroit 1, Yankees 0 in the fourth.  Temperature still above freezing.

Tuesday was a tough night for Vinnie.......... Not only did the Yankees "almost" win, but now I see this!

Let's look on the bright side:  If the Yankees can win their next four games, THEY COULD WIN THE SERIES!
