The side tone on my TenTec TT1315 is ear piercing when I key the transmitter.   Audio level is OK when in RCV mode.  I have turned the side tone volume control pot all the way down and checked all circuit components for correct values.  I have several questions:

1)  since the AGC is audio driven, should the AGC reduce the side tone volume?
2)  how is the side tone generated?
3)  it is not clear to me from the schematic just how the side tone pot (R61) affects the side tone level

Hope someone can help me resolve this problem.

Thanks
