If you're looking for activity on the eastern side on NA tune into 144.205 in the mornings
There is a whole group of guys from 8am to aprox 10am EST
The coordinator is often Stan KA1ZE/3.
Excellent station. He helps coordinate contacts between stations with the help of ON4KST chat page

So, if you have time in the mornings and would like to have some fun on 2m SSB or CW, sign into the chat, listen on 144.205 and don't forget to "Make some Noise" as Stan likes to say

I'm interested in working some 2m SSB as well. What are the typical calling freq.s and best times to make some contacts?  I'm on mostly in the evenings and maybe during the day occasionally during the weekends. I would like to optimize my operating time by calling on a well frequented freq.  Any pointers?

your best bet is calling on either 144.200 or 144.205
there are very many stations in the are that will be able to hear you from FM07, I have even worked into the grid myself with only 15 elements and 100watts.
it will be a very helpful tool to log into the on4kst chat page to help arrange contacts of just chat with other VHF'ers
there are several nets through out the week also on 144,222,432 and even 1296
if those bands tickle your fancy...  just get on the bands and make noise, someone will respond... dont expect pile ups like on 20 or 40m, but there is fun to be had.
