I love all of the ARRL Antenna Books - but I have to say that "Array of Light" is the biggest eye opener of all. Its amazing what I learned from it. For me - this is the real essence of ham radio.
If I want Low Band antennas - the ON4UN Low Band DX-ing is best, the ARRL Antenna Book is best for general all around antennas of all sorts, and Array of Light is great for both Verticals, but especially yagis.
EZNec and HFTA are indispensible - they have taken what I thought was just theory and made it practical and hands on for me.
