Stange.  Would someone really price this at US$1?  Maybe US$1000. 

With only one three-turn inductor in the pi network, that's definitely a CB amp.  I see items like this on e-Bay all the time, although the construction on this one appears to be better than average.

I cannot now, nor will I ever, understand the mindset that drives someone to put the time, effort and money into something that's illegal, dangerous and devoid of any real on-the-air benefit. 

Well, if I lived in the area, I'd grab it for the parts.  It could be easily converted to a single-band, two-tube, legal-limit amateur amplifier.  A nice follow-on project would be conversion to several bands, which could be financed by selling off some of the spare tubes.

There are basically two reasons for this.  One is that someone with enough know-how cobbles together something like this bigassed amplifier and sells it to a dyed-in-the-wool CBr for BIG bucks.

The second is that a lot of these so called dyed-in-the-wool CBrs are simply stupid people!  They believe just about anything they're told.  I mean man, you really have to be around these people to get an understanding on how they think!  It's really an experience.

Hello I haven't posted in a long time. I recently picked up an I-phone 4S. I did a Google search on CB forums. Don't ask me why, just boredom. Here's a couple of links. Some of these guy's are really sharp.  I was surprised at the hams that check in. So this amp is really not to unique.
Many CB guy's run similar amps.

I would share the concern of another poster who commented about the dangers of RF exposure to such high powers, especially in a mobile.  I'm not an expert on it, but it would give me the heebee jeebees.
