HT in Neon Greeen, Orange or Camo HF: Make a fashion statement!

And Gigaparts.com is selling the Icom 7200 in Orange, Olive Drab, and two kinds of camo:

Such colors can make the radio stand out, but just who do you want it to stand out for?  For yourself--so it's easy to find, or for thieves who look for things like that? 

I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but I know where my radios are, and I'd just as soon have them drab and inconspicuous--and still in my possession at day's end!  73!

"and I'd just as soon have them drab and inconspicuous" in which case the camouflage version should be ideal for you!! Anything beats the usual gray/black boxes (anyone remember the white Yaesu rigs) but I'm really not sure about a paint job in pink.

The 7200 looks really good in olive drab, should have always been an option.

That ht claims 1 watt audio. That`s great provided it`s true. But is it? I`ve never heard of any ht that claims that.

Has anyone actually purchased the IC-7200 in any of the colors offered ? I'd like to know if the optional paint jobs are as high quality as the factory paint job. The factory paint seems quite rugged and might be a baked on type of finish. The camo   etc are dipped but nothing is said about the durability . If it chips and scratches or blemishes easily, it would be a shame. Obviously, the color does nothing to add ruggedness to the rig. I would buy it because to me it is just fun. And that is what ham radio is to me personally. Just another past time I have fun with . It's like buying extras for my motorcycles. They don't all have a major improvement on performance. But they allow me to personalize my bike and tailor it to my liking. I'm doing it for me and me only. Not to impress others. At my age and condition, being cool is out of the question anyway !    Just my take on the subject.
