A friend of mine in Las Vegas is thinking about getting his ham license. He wants to get a tri band HT with 2m. 70cm, and another band. Is there more activity on 222 or 1200 band there?

On the AES Las Vegas web site there is a chart of some suggested active repeaters.  There are 1200 machines listed and no 220.  Last March I tried several 900 and 220 machine listed in the repeater directory on my then new Alinco G29.  Brought up the repeaters but never got a reply.  I'll try the 1200 machines next trip.

AES has a nice D-STAR repeater in Milwaukee as well.  I like how they put stuff up for open use in their store locations.

(Not an AES employee...just like using their repeaters an spending a few hours in their stores)
