If you just want a 10 meter vertical, save your time, money and frustration and buy either an I-Max 2000 or a A99.  Tune it to 10 meters and be done.  Forget the stupid ground plane kits for it that are popular with the CB crowd.

Save your money and make a vertical dipole. This antenna might cost 10 bucks or so. Use some imagination and you may just save a bunch of cash. I have seen anything from old speaker wire to aluminum foil wrapped around PVC pipe used as antenna material.

A dipole is just as good as an a-99, no matter what lies people have told or had told to them about that fiberglass POS. The Imax is not much better than the a-99 in performance. Both are overpriced.

The other end of your QSO will never know you are on a piece of wire.
