My FT-50 is acting up.  When I put the battery on it, it immediately powers up with the display blinking on a frequency. I can't get it to stop blinking, although I can change the frequency using the knob.  The keyboard doesn't seem to function.

I tried soft reset by pressing "Knob-Mon-F/W"  but all that does is toggle me to the menu.  Then I can't get out of the menu.  If I press the power button the radio turns off but won't turn back on by pressing the power button.  The only way to get it to turn on is by taking the battery pack off and back on.  Then I'm back to the blinking frequency display all over again.

Is there a hidden button somewhere so that I can manually hard-reset it?  Or am I just screwed with a microprocessor that went bad?

Thanks/'73

Sounds like it is time to replace the internal Memory Cell battery.
