I was not sure he answered me, all I heard was LIX and I took a chance.
Now to see if it hits their log, but if you (K0RS) heard it too,I should be OK
You are indeed in the log, congratulations!! But we REALLY need to find someone just south of Pittsburgh who can come over and help get your dipole a bit higher. Are there trees? Do you use ladder-line for your dipole? If I was anywhere near you and not so swamped for the Holidays I would do it; I can chip-in to send you some rope.

Hi Paul,
Around here trees are in abundance.
There are several black walnut trees that are at least 40-50 feet tall.
I would love to be able to shoot a line over one of them and
do either a 20 or 40m wire ground plane. It SHOULD work like gangbusters.
Problem is, getting a line over the top.
Doublet is fed with 450 ohm ladder line.
When I first started I couldn't decide whether to use ladder line
or coaxial cable. Several people tried to talk me out of the ladder line
because it was SO DIFFICULT to use. My best bet was coax in their opinion.
As one that often bucks the trend and after some reading (OK, lots of reading)
on W4RNL and other websitres, I decided to use the ladder line despite others opinion. Since the doublet is un-resonant. using coaxial cable,
the losses would be astronomical due to mismatch.
The idea of using a non-resonant antenna is/was foreign to me.
After working in the commercial radio world for over 30 years, using
anything for an antenna that was unresonant was blastphemy.
But after LOTS of research, I finally learned that anythin, resonate or not
could be made to radiate RF. The efficiency might not be great,
but it WILL WORK.
By the way, I was tickled when I checked the ZL9HR log
on ClubLog this afternoon and saw that little green check.
Made losing 4 nights of sleep worth while.
Nothing at all on the high bands out of ZL9HR today.
Of course, GRUMPY thinks I am CRAZY.
Who in their right mind would lose 4 nights of sleep
for something that lasted all of 10-15 seconds.
She just doesn't ubderstand the passion.
