They have been on 15CW and I doubt they are making 15 Qs an hour.

For what ever reason, they have no ears! many stations calling and they apparently aren't hearing much.

Krish, what kind of a mess was there on 15 RTTY today.  It looked like he called you but the QRM idiots was on there doing their usual brainless crap.  Did you work ZL9 on 15 RTTY today?

Hi Randy,
Thank fully i was able to send the confirmation to his call. I sent it twice at any rate.
And he confirmed it too.

Today has been a bad day all in all. Have been up from 2am so far. ZL9 folks have been
unpredictable. At 2am Est, they were on 80m cw. Not many callers. But he took off after
callign CQ and was there for like 5 minutes as he was building up past QSB. Then they
came up on 80m Lsb at 6:30am and every one was awake. He had a 5 kc split. NA/JA/SA
all calling. So he would rotate across. Did that for like 15minutes or so. Then went off to
80m RTTY. Crap. Why not spread the pile or just go to 80m CW. Esp on NA sunrise and he
was loud. Also he missed the chance to stay on 80m from about 4:30am till the east coast
sunrise and peak.

He then came up on 30m Rtty around 9:00am Est or so and was weak for east coast.
Hopefully the folks in mid-west and west coast were able to work them on 30m rtty.

This evening, they were on 15m RTTY. Was weak when we worked him. Hopefully, it built up later,
since i saw Peter had worked and spotted them. Need a 80m cw contact and has been
elusive so far. Now that is 3 nights in a row with about fewer than 4 hours of sleep.

Just wire antennas at my QTH near Seattle, but a mile of lake in front of me on the path to ZL9. I have yet to hear a signal on 30, 40, or 80 meters, and it's been 429 at best on 15 and 17; 319 on 10 and 20. It seems the prop to the NW W7 and VE7 hasn't been as expected.

 I usually have an easy time with ZL and VK.

But the guys down there have been absolutely fantastic at digging out! 500 watts CW and a dipole has got me in the log on 15 and 17. Success came in both cases by waiting until about 0200Z when everything to the east is in darkness, and Campbell Island is looking hard for new ones.

I am back in the ham game after 48 years QRT and really grateful to teams like ZL9HR! No honor roll in sight, but I am well over 200 confirmed entities in 5 years of bad sun.

Krish, glad you confirmed him.  I couldn't tell anything from that mess.  They were coming in fairly good here and I finally got him after about 15 minutes and the QRM morons calmed down.  I hope they get on 80 and 160 for the next 2 nights cause I think they go QRT Saturday morning.  I might get up early for the next couple of days just to see if I can possibly work them on either 80 or 160.  Their signals on 40 through 10 have been phenomenally good here at my QTH.  I just hope the signals on 80 and 160 do the same.

All they need to do is come up on 80m at the right time and we should be able to get them. Not
counting on 160m. Need more station for me on the Rx front.  Heck, the W1/W2/W3 folks
are hearing 5T well on 160m, but has been extremely weak here with QSB.

Still not in my log, but I just had the new power supply delivered to replace the one that fried on Tuesday so the rig is back in business. I have the day off tomorrow and it's supposed to rain so my powerline noise might be gone.  All I need to do now is to be able to hear them. Hopefully by this time tomorrow they'll be in my log.

I have been so lucky to have worked them at all. I also think I worked them on 160 but I have Amtrak next to me and there is arcing from their power lines that is killing me. It's intermittent but sounds like a mix of cannons and M-16 fire and is far louder than any DX station. If it weren't for that staccato QRM I'd have been able to tell for sure. Unfortunately I won't know till the DXpedition is over as they're about two days behind is getting their uploads. Still, I'm grateful to have this ATNO in the bag. When the line's not arcing I have S2 in the AM on 160. With arcing it's S9+

Just as was the case on 30m CW for me, RTTY on 15 this afternoon was utterly painless. I called maybe 3 or 4 times and that was that. I think it was a case of no 15m propagation to Europe for them and just NA getting through. In theory the west coast should have been a couple of S-units stronger to them but he was working mostly central, southern and a few east-coasters in the time I was listening. His rate was very slow, maybe 3 a minute, but listening on the QSX I didn't hear a lot of callers either. He wasn't moving around at all. I'd seen a spot about 20 minutes old and worked him on the same frequency, as did the other callers I'd heard. I'm certain it got worse later on, but when I got through it was pretty quiet. He was less than perfect copy, but not ESP either.
